Our team will help your child continue to discover and develop lifelong attitudes and dispositions towards learning by encouraging children to play and explore, to ‘have a go’ at something new, persevere, try out their own ideas and enjoy their achievements.
We value all children as unique individuals and recognise that they develop and learn in different ways. We are experienced in supporting children with specific additional needs and we recognise the positive qualities that they can bring to our setting.
We know how important it is for children to feel safe and secure within our setting and we work as a team to make sure each child’s emotional well-being is nurtured.
All of our learning is done through play, often initiated by the child, sometimes led by an adult, who is able to enrich and extend interests they have noticed.
The children are able to choose where they want to play in the main part of the Pre-school. Adult led circle times are spent in learning groups. Children are either based in the Yellow or Orange room in mixed age groups but can choose to play in either room throughout the session. We also have a Green Room with its own outside area for activities with smaller groups of children and a Blue Room used as a quieter space for some of our children with additional needs.
We place a high value on learning outdoors with a large outside play area as well as a smaller area attached to the Green Room. All children in their Pre-school year have an opportunity to experience Forest School through trips to Leigh Woods.
